Gentle Path Towards Healing - Professional Version

The professional version of the app is for therapists, grief counselors, or clergy who frequently help clients grieving a loss. When you purchase the professional version of the app, you can share the code with up to 10 people, who can then use the app on their phone, tablet, or computer. If you are seeing the person in ongoing counseling, you may want to ask them to share their activity with you. They can download and share their memory garden (thoughts and photos), their difficult moments, and their self-care activities. They can print these out or email them to you as often as they like.

The Gentle Path app is particularly helpful for people who have just experienced a loss. It guides them towards taking one small step a day towards moving on with their lives while remembering and honoring their love for the person who has passed away.

 how it works

Put the app on your phone in seconds and save it to your home screen. It will always be there when you need it.

1

Take One Step Each Day

Grief can sometimes feel paralyzing. But healing happens when you take one step at a time. The app suggests different steps to take on your healing journey or you can create your own.

2

Make Time to Remember

Cherishing the memory of your loved one is an important part of the healing process. The app includes a Memory Garden to record and save your thoughts and photos.

3

Practice Self-Care

Your loved one probably gave you care and emotional nourishment that are now missing from your life. The app gives you 10 ways to nourish your own mental and physical health, and you can also add your own ideas.

4

Stay Connected with Others

Nothing is more important in your healing journey than staying connected to others. The app includes a section to enter important contacts, and you can call them with one tap.

5

End of the Day Reflection

The app includes a Reflection Chatbot to help you think about your day and plan for tomorrow. It is not an AI-companion, but is limited to 4 chats a day. Healing comes from real-life connections, not from chatbots.

Gentle Steps On Your Journey to Healing

Everyone experiences loss and healing in different ways. But there are tried and true techniques that help people heal from their loss, used by therapists and counselors who specialize in grief.  We've taken the most important of these techniques and put them in an easy-to-use app that guides you through the journey of healing from your loss.  There is no prescribed way to use the app.  Any one of the tools can remind you that healing is not about  “getting over” a loss, but about finding ways to carry love, memories, and hope forward while rebuilding a sense of purpose.

Plant a memory garden in the app with the thoughts & photos from your phone.

The app suggests over 10 ways to practice self-care and always encourages you to connect with others to help on your healing journey.

Evening reflections help you think about your journey and the positive steps you can take tomorrow.

Handling Waves of Grief

In the first few months after a loss, it is common for people to experience waves of intense grief. These waves will pass, of course, but at the time, the intense emotions can be very difficult to handle. Gentle Path includes techniques to help you cope with intense emotions, such as a deep-breathing exercise (with or without music); a way to reflect on the validity of unrealistic thoughts (cognitive-behavioral modification); and a unique "grounding" technique that asks you to take pictures of comforting scenes and objects as a way of reorienting yourself toward a more positive way of looking at life.

A century ago, Sigmund Freud said that the main objective of therapy was to help people suffer less. Grief and loss will always be hard, but no one, certainly not the person you lost, would want you to prolong your unhappiness.

Sharing Your Journey with a Professional

Gentle Pathways is not intended to replace professional help. When grief is intense or prolonged, a mental health professional can be invaluable. And your work with a professional takes on even more meaning when you share information about your healing journey.  The My Journey section of the app summarizes the healing steps you have taken, your self-care practice,  and keeps track of the waves of grief you have experienced. You have the option to export your notes about your journey to share with a therapist or counselor.

Special Features

Print out your memory garden. With one click you can download a PDF to print.

Share your progress with a therapist or counselor.  Export the Progress section with 1 click.

The app includes self-care and relaxation audios. Just tap the link to play the audio.

The Progress section makes it easy to see the steps you are taking on your healing journey.
